Super Mario Bros - 1993
This movie came out 19 years ago on my 10th birthday. It’s vastly underrated in my opinion. The actor’s performances are all good (save for some bad ADR). The story is actually very tight for the first half of the movie, although it admittedly starts to fall apart a little in the second half. All in all though it’s a really fun film, and much like Captain Power began my love affair with “henshin heroes,” Super Mario Bros. The Movie more than likely fostered my interest in “everyday people sent to a parallel world” stories.
Also, Samantha Mathis is adorable as hell in this.
It’s like $5 on DVD at any Target. Buy yourself a copy and check it out if you haven’t before.
